Vamos al Museo: Family Art Workshop

10:30 am ¡Vamos al Museo! is a morning of artmaking for children of all ages and families of all sizes. A visit to the museum is included in this artist-led workshop. We will meet in the Creative Classroom in the Pete V. Domenici Building. Oralidad Festival: Songs and Stories from the Native American Performing Arts Program

11:00 am Music, dance, and storytelling intermingle in a program that showcases Native American pride and culture. It is an intertribal presentation, directed by John Williams, that will be performed by students from Albuquerque Public Schools. The program will include two Native American songs, two winter stories accompanied by performances, and a Native American dance that allows for audience participation. Arte Poquito: Teatro de Bebé

10:00 am Infants 0-18 months and their caregivers explore dramatic arts and even visit the NHCC Wells Fargo Theater. This multi-sensory program includes time for socializing and dramatic play. Arte Poquito is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for infants ages 0 to 18 months and caregivers that nurtures creativity and provides bilingual introductory arts experiences balanced with social interaction. Each program focuses on different aspects of Hispanic/Latine arts, including music, dance, and storytelling. Barelas Stories: Four Workshops

10:30 am to 12:30 pm Residents of Barelas are invited to a series of workshops that will result in a trilogy of plays about the neighborhood. The dates are March 9, 16, 23 and 30.  Do you have stories, images, characters or incidents about the neighborhood that you’d like to see in a play? In this series of four sessions we will play with words and techniques that reveal our stories and our styles. The workshops will culminate with a public sharing of stories, anecdotes and scenes at the (more…)
