New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus and National Hispanic Cultural Center celebrate Pride with a Latinx flair! Orgullo! A Latinx Pride Celebration showcases the culture and passion of the Latinx community. New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus and special guests, in partnership with NHCC, will present a Pride performance sure to be muy caliente!
Orgullo! A Latinx Pride Celebration will feature Latinx artists and put a spotlight on the people who have always been a part of the LGBTQ+ community by exploring traditional Latinx music and dance with LGBTQ+ twists. For example: this performance may feature a Flamenco dance that is traditionally performed between a man and a woman, featuring two men instead. This production will also celebrate some of the LGBTQ+ Latinx community legends, who have acted as artistic inspirations.
New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus strives to be an empowering voice for the LGBTQ+ community and to enrich our greater New Mexican community through choral excellence. We believe that our strength grows as we add voice to voice, and that understanding between people of diverse cultures and orientations blossoms each time we present our musical offerings.
New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus’ motto is Changing the World Through Music, and through our works of silliness, passion, faith, beauty, and emotion, we try to demonstrate that we are all on the same journey. This year we ask you to join us as we share our musical talents in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
