Baila! Baila!’s: Christmas in New Mexico

2:00 pm & 7:00 pm Saturday 2:00 pm Sunday Baila! Baila!’s annual holiday show is a whirlwind extravaganza, taking audiences on a journey through the sights and sounds of Christmas in New Mexico. Music, song, and dance with the traditional Southwestern flair that has been cultivated in our state over the generations, as well as unique segments saluting Christmas traditions from around the world, will delight theatre-goers of all ages. Explorar las Artes: Hora de Cuentos Preescolares Bilingüe: Green is a Chile Pepper

10:00 am Story by Roseanne Greenfield Thong (Author) and John Parra (Illustrator). Explorar las Artes is a free, bi-monthly 45-minute program for children ages 3-5 years old and caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture. Participants explore the NHCC museum and engage in artmaking, music, movement, dance, drama, and bilingual story time. 10:00 am Listen to the rollicking story, Gazpacho for Nacho and then use your five senses to explore the tasty ingredients of gazpacho! By Tracey Kyle (Author) and Carolina Farías (Illustrator). She is the author of four poetry collections, furia, Blood Sugar Canto, CUICACALLI/House of Song, and FirstPoems, two chapbooks, Enduring Azucares and Hibiscus Tacos, and a short story collection, flesh to bone, which won the Premio Aztlán. Mundos de Mestizaje: Torreón Tour

11 am (MST) The National Hispanic Cultural Center is offering a guided tour of the Mundos de Mestizaje fresco by Frederico Vigil twice a week, Thursdays and Fridays at 11 am. Located in the Torreón on the NHCC Campus, Mundos de Mestizaje depicts thousands of years of Hispanic culture, history, and identity. Admission for the tour is $2 and tickets are available for advance purchase below. Tickets can also be purchased in the New Mexico Mutual Welcome Center, depending on availability. Capacity for each tour is limited.
