A 1994 play by Rudolfo Anaya, Ay, Compadre! is a classic work about aging and how a couple of “compas” are dealing with it. Set in New Mexico and directed by Evelyn Facio, it is a comedy about two Hispanic couples whose relationships are complicated by strong lifelong friendships, rivalries, and family loyalties. Daniel longs to return to the barrio, while his compadre Iggy wants to enjoy the country club life. The two wives are caught between the two worlds, as well as the intrigues of who is sleeping with whom. Presented by Del Cielo Productions.
