The Sea Inside is based on the life story of Ramón Sampedro, a Spanish ship mechanic and part-time poet who was left quadriplegic and bedridden at the age of 26 following a diving accident. Sampedro fought a 30-year campaign for the legal right to end his life with dignity; despite his wish to die, he was able to inspire those who were close to him to live life to the fullest. Presented as part of the Bank of America Free Thursday Film Series.
