Unveiling of Rudolfo Anaya Bust

6 pm Join the National Hispanic Cultural Center for an unveiling and dedication of Reynaldo “Sonny” Rivera’s sculptural bust of Rudolfo Anaya in the Center’s History and Literary Arts Library from 6 to 7 pm, in advance of the Center’s presentation of Mr. Anaya’s work The Season of La Llorona in the Roy E. ¡Órale! Lowrider: Custom Made in New Mexico

2 pm to 4 pm Join author Don Usner, and collaborators Kate Ware and Daniel Kosharek, for a presentation and book signing of ¡Órale! Lowrider: Custom Made in New Mexico, a beautiful photography book that pays homage to an enduring but evolving, cultural tradition with a fascinating compilation of four decades of lowriding, including photographs by New Mexico’s most renowned documentarians with cultural studies of lowriders in their communities. Only the Road/Solo El Camino: Eight Decades of Cuban Poetry

Join poet and author Margaret Randall on Dec. 3 for a presentation, reading and book signing of ONLY THE ROAD/SOLO EL CAMINO: Eight Decades of Cuban Poetry. This book, featuring the work of more than 50 poets born between 1902 and 1981, paints a full and dynamic picture of modern Cuban life and poetry, highlighting unique features and idiosyncrasies; changes across generations; and the ebbs and flows between repression and freedom following the 1959 Revolution. It is the most complete bilingual anthology of Cuban poetry available to an English readership.

Cervantes & Don Quixote Exhibition

Tuesday-Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm Instituto Cervantes presents an exhibition in four parts, paying homage to Miguel de Cervantes, the famous author of Don Quixote de la Mancha, and commemorating the 400th anniversary of his death. The first part, “Quijotes del celuloide,” displays posters from various movies made about Don Quixote over the years. Education Guide: Field Trip Opportunities

The National Hispanic Cultural Center offers a variety of field trip opportunities for students of all ages and abilities. We include home school, public, charter, private schools, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Senior Centers and other organizations. We offer local and international, culturally engaging theatre, music, dance, and art making experiences that provide a rich fieldtrip experience.
