A gang of thieves on the run from Madrid after the robbery of a pawn shop stop to rest in the border village of Zugarramurdi, inhabited and controlled by witches, and find themselves the guests of a family who are preparing for an ancient ritual. The visually inventive film builds toward a jaw-dropping climax, with plenty of laughs, scares, and surprises along the way.
