Vinyl records and collectors will be showcasing and selling collectibles through out the day. A unique opportunity to get your hands on classic records from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Classic to current cd’s, tapes and unique posters will be available for a limited time.

The Albuquerque Folk Festival

On Sunday, October 9, 2022 The Albuquerque Folk Festival offers over 100 events with 5 performance stages, 7 workshop venues (including music and dance), 3 jam venues, musical-instrument “petting zoo,” kids’ tent, storytelling tent, merchandise tent, instrument consignment tent, bike valet, arts-and-craft vendors, food vendors, and more!

Opera Southwest: Hector Armienta’s Zorro

The NHCC & Opera Southwest presents Hector Armienta’s Zorro, a fully staged opera with orchestra, sung in English and Spanish with both English and Spanish translation supertitles.
Diego, a young man of noble blood in Alta California, awakens to the plight of the poor and oppressed through the love of Ana Maria. Donning a black mask, he becomes Zorro and brings the revolution to the pueblo of Los Ángeles.
Opera Southwest, along with Fort Worth Opera, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, and Opera Cultura, is thrilled to have commissioned an opera based on the Zorro universe. Maestro Anthony Barrese conducts this premiere.

His take on the lighter side of family is relatable, informative, and most importantly, hilarious.

New Mexico Young Actors: The Jungle Book

New Mexico Young Actors presents The Jungle Book, based on The Mowgli Stories by Rudyard Kipling. We follow the adventures of the “man-cub” Mowgli, a boy who was raised by wolves in a jungle in India. The Jungle Book features a cast of more that two dozen youth, and a small orchestra which includes a sitar.

New Year’s with the Opera! is a fun variety show featuring Opera Southwest’s most beloved recent performers, the Albuquerque Youth Symphony, and the Opera Southwest Chamber Orchestra. With a variety of opera favorites and light classics, there is something for everyone to ring in the New Year.

Opera Southwest presents Gioachino Rossini’s Le Comte Ory, a fully staged opera with orchestra, sung in French with English translation supertitles.
Opera Southwest continues its commitment to the works of Rossini with one of his Parisian comedies. The rakish Count Ory is determined to seduce the Countess Adele while others are off fighting in the Crusades. Disguises, mistaken identities, drink, and even a thunderstorm combine to make this hilarious romp through medieval France an energetic bel canto whirlwind. Noted Rossini specialist Maestro Anthony Barrese conducts.

AMP Concerts presents Eric Johnson. Eric has been traveling on a prolific odyssey over the course of more than four decades. Along the way, his creations have encompassed repertoire that cross-pollinates genres including rock, blues, jazz, fusion, soul, folk, new age, classical, and even country. Inevitably, E.J. says it best himself: “It really boils down to the music and the song at the end of the day…. If it doesn’t have that, it gets boring for me. The most important thing for me is to grow musically and make a more expansive and meaningful artistic statement with every new project.”

Nessun dorma… No one sleeps in this beautiful new production of one of Puccini’s most famous operas by director Mo Zhou. A fairytale set in ancient China, Turandot brims with masterful music from start to finish. Maestro Anthony Barrese conducts.

Magnify Dance Ensemble: How Love Wins

Magnify Dance Ensemble presents How Love Wins. How Love Wins is a sequel to the award-winning holiday production of Christmas Joy. Inspired by the Gospel and expressed through dance, the story of How Love Wins is filled with meaningful and engaging choreography. Progressing from the birth of Jesus through His life, death and resurrection, this newest addition to Magnify Dance Ensemble’s repertoire builds on the professionalism and extraordinary level of performance art our audiences have come to expect.
