The Mountains Wore Down to the Valleys Opening Reception

5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Join us for an opening reception to celebrate the artists behind our newest exhibition, The Mountains Wore Down to the Valleys! The Mountains Wore Down to the Valleys is a collaborative sound and visual installation by New Mexican artists Adri De La Cruz and Marisa Demarco. Arte Poquito: Arte de Bebé

10:00 am Infants 0-18 months and their caregivers will have a chance to explore visual arts and even visit the NHCC Art Museum. This multi-sensory program includes time for socializing and art exploration. Arte Poquito is a free, monthly, 45-minute program for infants ages 0 to 18 months and caregivers that nurtures creativity and provides bilingual introductory arts experiences balanced with social interaction. Each program focuses on different aspects of Hispanic/Latine arts, including music, dance, and storytelling. Early Childhood Bilingual Storytime: Tía with the Tortilla

10:00 am The art of storytelling comes to life for children ages 18 months to 4 years and their caregivers with the eerie story of “Tía with the Tortilla.” Children and caregivers will have the chance to explore the story by acting out the characters, dancing La Varsoviana, and making a tortilla mask. 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Spend a lively evening exploring Día de los Muertos celebrations, arts, and history at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Explorar las Artes: Baila Conmigo

10:00 am Children 18 months to 4 years and their caregivers will have the chance to explore arts through traditional New Mexico dance and other dance forms using ribbon sticks, rhythm instruments, and even flamenco.  Explorar las Artes is a free, bi-monthly 45-minute program for toddlers ages 18 months to 4 years and caregivers that cultivates creativity and self-expression through the exploration of Hispanic/Latine arts and culture.
