¡Baile! Casino (Cuban Salsa) Dance Class

6 pm to 7:15 pm—Beginning and Intermediate Class.
No experience is necessary to participate in this class.

7:15 pm to 8:15 pm—Advanced Class
In order to participate in this class, dancers must come to at least one 6 pm class and be familiar with the vocabulary and movement introduced in these classes.

Dance classes are taught by Larry Heard and Rueda 505 Friends.

Colcha Community Stitch-Along

9:30 am – 12 pm

Join our monthly gathering for colcheras of all skill levels led by Annette Gutierrez Turk. If you are beginning or advanced in the traditional New Mexican style of embroidery, bring your current colcha project along and enjoy these monthly, informal, community work sessions to share ideas, resources and encouragement!

First Friday: Volunteer Education and Conversation

On the first Friday of each month, NHCC docents and core volunteers meet for coffee and conversation along with monthly presentations on topics that build the knowledge and skills of the docent core to give tours, educate the NHCC visitors and share the NHCC mission and programs.

Salud y Sabor Celebrates Mexico: Bridges Between Past and Present

Salud y Sabor is a free late morning/early afternoon of food, art, health, culture, and entertainment that celebrates our communities and connects families with nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and play. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, fun art and movement activities for kids and adults, health screenings, cultural exchange, and live entertainment.  Join us for free samples of local produce and special recipes. All activities emphasize traditional Latin American and Indigenous food and culture, basic information/free screenings from local Western and alternative health practitioners, and a vibrant atmosphere with art activities, storytelling, and live music.

This event is presented as a partnership between the NHCC, Agri-Cultura Network and Street Food Institute.
