When a young linguist travels into a rural area of Veracruz to record conversations between the last speakers of Zikril, a dying indigenous language, he discovers that the language is at the point of disappearing, as the last two speakers had a fight 50 years ago and have refused to speak to each other ever since. Trying to bring the two old friends back together, he discovers that a secret from the past, concealed by the language, will make it difficult for the heart of Zikril to beat again. Presented as part of the Bank of America Free Thursday Film Series.
